Surveying

JPW uses our 3D point cloud scanning equipment and software to aid in field measuring of existing structures and environments. We can import the point clouds into Tekla and then identify areas where clashes may exist and where further measurement may be necessary to verify clearances. Coupled with our in house detailing and engineering we can quickly make or recommend adjustments to keep the project moving forward should any clashes be identified.

Trimble Total Station

JPW uses out Trimble Total Station to survey anchor boles on every job we do. This helps us get ahead of any possible layout, pattern, or spacing issue that may effect the erection of the steel. We can then RFI the EOR to make adjustments as necessary to base plate to ensure a smooth erection process.

We can also use the Total Station to aid in field measurements. Such uses include verifying fitment, slope, and dimensions for a new railing on an existing sidewalk or curb.

Integration with Tekla

3D Point Cloud Scanning collects millions of points of data which then can be brought in our modeling software – Tekla. This allows us to model new assemblies into existing environments and allows our detailing team to identify any obstacles or conflicts in advance of the work, rather than having to modify plans during install. This technology was utilized extensively during our projects at Anheuser-Busch in Baldwinsville, NY.

Using 3D Point Cloud Scanning allows our work to be completed more efficiently, accurately and with fewer modifications in the field.
